How Long Did Your Course Take You to Complete?
"The teaching took me about 8 months; with final units and certification 3 months later. The course was delivered all online, with training days to attend every 3rd week. I also had the support of my assessor for 1:1 support and assessment. She also came and visited me in my centre.
There are options to take the course through monthly classroom based training days, if you don't like online training; just speak to Need 2 Succeed about this."
Is Your Qualification Nationally Recognised?
"Yes, by SEG Awards - my certificate is a recognised JNC youth work qualification, providing me with a professional Ofqual regulated qualification that has helped me move on in my career. I am now taking on the Level 3."
What Funding is Available For This?
"The usual price of the course is £1475 for Level 2 Certificate and £1675 for level 3 Certificate. The Youth Investment Fund, has agreed to fund this programme through their the Central Support offer".
How To Secure My Place?
"Once you have filled in the form below, one of the Need 2 Succeed Team will get in touch with you to take you through the next steps. Then all you do is to pay a refundable deposit of £300, which you will get back upon successful and timely completion of the course (12 months)."
"Hi, my name is Jennie, and I used to work as a teaching assistant during the day on a fairly low wage, and supplemented my income by working 2 sessions at a local youth club. On average, I was earning around £17-£18K a year, working around 40-45 hours a week.
Something had to change, so I decided Youth Work was a career I really wanted to explore, as loved working with young people. So I went ahead and booked a session with Rachel, one of Need 2 Succeeds advisors, who helped me to explore all aspects of what my career goals were and what the best course pathway to take.
I settled on the Level 2 Programme and after 11 months, I passed with flying colours and this meant two things for me.
One - I was now nationally qualified, meaning my hourly rate went up.
Two - I was able to reduce my hours at the school and take on more sessions at my youth centre, as a Leader in Charge of a few sessions.
I have now embarked on my Level 3; and as a bonus, because I completed my Level 2, the first 4 units count towards my level 3, meaning I'm already half way through and I've only just started!
